Eastern Dreams

when I dream about heaven

all hell breaks loose

oblivious to camels

needles

incandescent go-betweens

now that the hereafter has come for me

budding branches

stems of flowers

blossom while I watch

touched with white and streaked with crimson

a girl and dusk have come

her fragrance falls

we elope in the spring wind

Saturn’s favorite moon paused behind the blinds

a bowl of jade soup cooling

luxuriant silk and sanctuary inside

she’s a cloud

to cover me with mist

she is an ocean to

drown me in

when I wander

I hear

her laughter

her pain

our moment

blending

under the willow

in cloudy weather

I remember

whenever

I dream

of heaven
