The Black Stallion
Molly's taken the sickness
You can't reach her now
Her eyes won't focus
Her breathing is shallow
Her Patrick lies still
In the dark gallows glen
For one night
That was forbidden
Where he lays no green will grow
O' his body the blackbirds crow
Calling out the three
For them no reprieve
A rider-less black stallion
Roams the gallows wood
With fire in it's eyes
Blood on its hoof
Dogs of death
Come fetch them
Drag them from their beds
Claverhouse's henchmen
With the devil 'round their heads
Pretty Molly is failing
She's slipping away
Soon she'll be leaving
This murderous refrain
'Cross the drifting sky
Dreaming on the wind
Kiss the stars goodbye
On shimmering wing
All around the world
So barren in her wake
The jewels she's wearing
Was how she was laid
Dogs of death
Confess them
Drag them from their beds
Cursed men of Claver's
With hellfire 'round their heads
A rider-less black stallion
Roams the gallows wood
With fire in his eyes
And blood on his hoof
